Education and Training

Dr. Robert Winslow began his path towards a career as a plastic surgeon in Cameron Park and near Sacramento with education and training in the Ivy League at some of the world's finest universities. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in New Jersey in 1958 and his M.D. from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York in 1962.

Dr. Winslow interned in general surgery at the Yale-New Haven Medical Center in Connecticut, where he was also an assistant resident. He was both an assistant and chief resident in general surgery at Dartmouth Affiliate Hospitals in New Hampshire. Dr. Winslow completed a residency in plastic surgery at Temple University Hospital in Pennsylvania in 1971.

Dr. Winslow regularly undertakes continuing education in order to stay abreast of new developments in plastic surgery.

Professional Experience

Dr. Robert Winslow's impressive surgical expertise is founded on over 35 years of experience at leading hospitals and academic institutions around the United States. After completing his medical training in 1971, Dr. Winslow began work as a surgeon at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He has since worked as a surgeon at Watts Hospital, Rex Hospital, Wake County Medical Center, Blue Ridge Ambulatory Surgery, and Raleigh Community Hospital, all in North Carolina.

During the same period, Dr. Winslow served as a professor in various positions at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine from 1971 to 1993, as a visiting professor at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona in 1975, and as a consultant at Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina from 1976 to 1983.

Dr. Winslow moved to California in 1994, where he worked at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe until 1998. He currently works at Marshall Hospital in Placerville, California. In addition, he has run AweNatural Plastic Surgery since 2001, working as a plastic surgeon in Cameron Park near Sacramento.

Certifications and Awards

Dr. Robert Winslow is a double-board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive specific expertise and training in cosmetic surgery. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners (1963), the American Board of Surgery (1970), and the American Board of Plastic Surgery (1972).

Dr. Winslow's pioneering work as a plastic surgeon has earned him numerous awards. He won First Prize at the Robert H. Ivy Society in both 1970 and 1971 and First Prize in Category at the Plastic Surgery Residents Conference in 1971, and he was awarded a research grant from the Educational Foundation of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in 1973.

JoAnne

My name is JoAnne Winslow and what is my title in the office?  Hmmm, well a little bit of many things.  I would say the most important thing to me is that everyone working in our practice and the people that come into our lives as patients are treated with the utmost respect and love everyday in every way.   Some of my titles include; Patient Care Coordinator, Esthetician, Marketing, Practice Manager and last, but not least, Dr. Winslow’s life partner.  Our hobbies are traveling, ball room dancing, gardening, reading and family.  With five children and eleven grandchildren we are living a very full life.

Jennifer

My name is Jennifer and I joined Dr. Winslow’s staff five years ago as his Administrative Assistant.  It is such a pleasure working for Dr. Winslow, his wonderful staff and most importantly, connecting with our patients.  I was born and raised in Sacramento and moved to the foothills ten years ago.  My husband and I are very proud of our three daughters, who are all grown and on their own.  When I’m not trying to invade in their lives, I enjoy the many adventures my husband plans, family get-togethers and running away with my girlfriends.  It is my goal that our patients feel welcome and comfortable.  I look forward to meeting you.  

Tracy

My name is Tracy. I was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and raised in Northern California. My husband Kevin and I enjoy bringing up our 9-year-old daughter Megan. In my spare time I love vacationing in Maui, reading, wine tasting and spending time with my family.
My career as a LVN is so fascinating since working with Dr. Winslow at AweNatural Plastic Surgery. 

 

Kindy

My name is Kindy and I recently began working for Dr. Winslow as a medical assistant after graduating from a career college.  For the past fifteen years my career was in the beauty industry working in a salon and spa.  That experience prepared me for the people skills that are so perfect for what I am doing now.  Everyday in the office is so interesting and exciting for me because of the opportunity to be trained under such a skilled and well-educated surgeon.  His kind and caring way with each patient and his staff make each day a pleasure to go to work.  I have been married for fifteen years to Joe and we are raising our 6-year-old son, Jake who brings so much joy to our lives. My favorite activities are fitness and relaxing at our home with the goats in our Placerville home.

The Gardners

We are John and Jeanette Gardner and we both work with Dr. Winslow in the operating room.  We met in nursing school at Humboldt State University and graduated with Bachelor degrees in nursing.  For the past seventeen years we have specialized in surgical nursing, John has over twenty-five years of experience in the operating room and in 1997 graduated as an RN First Assistant program at UCLA.  He is currently First Assist to Dr. Winslow. We have two daughters and our favorite hobby is raising Llamas.
