Facelift

The facelift is a popular procedure designed to tighten facial skin – smoothing wrinkles, removing excess skin folds, and eliminating other signs of aging in order to produce a more youthful look. When performed by a talented surgeon such as Dr. Winslow, who practices near Sacramento and Folsom, facelift surgery can dramatically improve the appearance and self-esteem of many cosmetic surgery patients.

The facelift procedure is custom-tailored to the individual patient's unique bone and muscle structure, face shape, skin condition, and personal aesthetic goals. Dr. Winslow is able not only to tighten and lift the skin, but also to reposition underlying muscles and tissue, producing longer-lasting, more natural facelift results.

During the facelift procedure, Dr. Winslow makes an incision behind the hairline at the temples, after which he separates the skin from the underlying structures in order to reposition muscles and remove unneeded tissue. Excess skin can be trimmed away, and the skin will ultimately be repositioned and stitched into place for healing.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is relatively simple but extremely effective. Over time, skin around the eyes may sag and stretch, making a person appear fatigued or aged. By removing sagging skin and tissue from this area, Dr. Winslow can entirely rejuvenate a patient's appearance, making him or her appear years younger. To obtain an even more thorough improvement, some Folsom and Sacramento-area patients choose to combine blepharoplasty with a facelift or with injectables such as Restylane®.

For many patients, blepharoplasty offers both aesthetic and functional benefits. When tissue around the eyes droops far enough, it may obscure peripheral vision, potentially making it difficult to observe dangers such as speeding cars. Removing this tissue can restore the patient's vision while making the eyes appear more open, alert, and youthful.

There are different procedures available for the upper and lower eyelids. The goal of upper eyelid surgery is to remove excess skin and cause the eye's fold to become more clearly defined. When performing lower eyelid surgery, Dr. Winslow aims to remove excess skin and fat deposits that cause eye bags.

Recovering from blepharoplasty typically takes several weeks, time during which patients may experience some swelling, soreness, or dry eyes. Within a few weeks, however, patients will begin noticing the impressively realistic results that are the signature of AweNatural Plastic Surgery.

Rhinoplasty

Using rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, Dr. Winslow can change the size, shape, and position of the nose and nostrils. The nose job is an amazingly versatile surgery, as Dr. Winslow and his patients at AweNatural Plastic Surgery in the Sacramento area can customize the rhinoplasty procedure according to whatever goals they set out to achieve.

Beyond its powerful aesthetic benefits, rhinoplasty is also a good way for a patient with a deviated septum or other respiration-hampering structural defect to open the air passages in the nose  and make it easier to breathe. Rhinoplasty is a good option for most patients who are at least 15 years old and in good general health.

Dr. Winslow has the superior skill required to specialize in revisional rhinoplasty. When patients are dissatisfied with the end result of a previous nose job, they often come to Dr. Winslow to have the other surgeon's mistakes corrected.

Most rhinoplasty procedures can be performed through incisions inside the nose, leaving no visible scarring on the face. Patients will typically need to wear a splint on the nose to help it retain its new shape during the first weeks of recovery. In some cases, the nose may also be packed with gauze for the same reason. Full recovery may take as long as several months for some patients, but the final results can be life-changing.

Brow Lift

The brow lift procedure is something like a facelift, but is more localized and less invasive. Patients who want to improve hooded brows, drooping around the eyes, and deep frown lines can enjoy tremendous success with a brow lift from Dr. Winslow. Skin and tissue along the brow are lifted and tightened through an incision made along the hairline, much as in a facelift, but the incision is typically smaller and the patient benefits from a shorter recovery time as a result.
